I've killed myself with the melee/grenade thing. What an odd fucking decision to have those share a button. I just did this really cool quest, I think it's a side quest but it introduced some of the major factions in the game. It was very creepy, eerie, and cool. Storywise this game seems a lot more promising than Betheseda's recent endeavors. 10 hours and i've barely left the corner of the map you start in. A lot of this has been cleaning up sanctuary and making it look presentable.

I'm basically in the same boat. I'm incredibly paranoid that at some point Sanctuary will get attacked by bandits and it won't be defensible enough.
honestly i had to bump it down to just hard. I was doing fine until i hit the Lexington area and started getting my ass royally handed to me. I found two legendary monsters, so it was worth it. But i just don't have the equipment or the supplies this early in the game. I ran out of bullets in all of my guns and was doing no damage on raiders when shooting them in the head.
Hard is a much less stressful experience, although i haven't run into any legendary monsters when bumping it down. Oh well. Maybe after i level up and get a lot of caps/a nice supply chain i'll bump it up.
str 1, end 1 , perc 8, char 9, int 6, agi 5, luck 3. I didnt realize for the first 3 or 4 levels that skill points are also used for perks... so i was dumping more points in charisma instead of perking up

Yeah it's stupid how they don't show you the perks screen when you allocate skill points
Chicken posted this site http://vault111.com/ which shows what each perks does and whatnot, I built my character first using it
Been taking a lot of the modding and crafting perks and I'm doing pretty well. I invested in crafting a bolt action pipe sniper rifle and a double barrel shotgun and upgrading my armor pieces. Companion ai is just terrible.
The only combat perks I have are 2 ranks in the rifle one and it makes my shotgun brutal.
