I'm secretly hoping the Cavs win tonight. I want baseball to be the Bay Area sport.

If I didn't make that last post the Warriors would have won. You're welcome, Cleveland.

Whoa what a fleece. Ibaka for Oladipo, Ilyasova (is he any good anymore?) and baby Sabonis

Re: A new NBA thread (HYPER HYPED DRAFT SUPER EDITION)
Solid value but doesn't make sense without other moves. Can't do anything with Adams as your only solid defensive big.
There's a scenario where they can clear close to max cap room now though in addition to Durant. If they could dump Kanter and bring along Horford that would be great. But unlikely.

I hope it's not a sign that Durant's leaving.

Re: A new NBA thread (HYPER HYPED DRAFT SUPER EDITION)
Yeah it opens up that doubt a bit more.
I'll be interested to hear what Ibaka says if he ever speaks up. Basically any worthwhile player that has left the Thunder hasn't said good things. Harden, Reggie, Thabo and Martin have all given an impression that they didn't feel valued and Serge basically said that during the season, too.

I wish I could blame him but I can't. Alienated and lost player after player. Having to rely on trash like Waiters and Kanter.
I wouldn't trust the Thunder org if they were my bosses. Why should he?
Really sucks.

Clay Bennett deserved this, but OKC didn't. GS neither, for that matter.

Re: A new NBA thread (HYPER HYPED DRAFT SUPER EDITION)
Super Team stuff is a really bad trend for the NBA and professional sports in general. But I think NBA suffers from it more due to small team sizes where individuals can make a massive impact. NBA Players association needs to get it's shit together and block these kinds of moves if they want the regional appeal of teams to mean something. The 'Miami' in 'Miami Heat' didn't really mean anything, dunno if 'Golden State' will either.

Re: A new NBA thread (HYPER HYPED DRAFT SUPER EDITION)
I don't know if it's bad for the NBA. It's bad for competition, but the NBA benefits from a lot of anti-competitive practices.
I think Miami was good for the league as much as it was annoying and as much as it sucked to lose to them in the finals. I think people hating LeBron and Miami was just as good as them loving LeBron and Miami.
The regional thing. I don't think the NBA cares much anymore. It's window dressing. It's more and more of an international league and the regional thing matters less and less. One of the most active Thunder boards is a Chinese-language one for Chinese fans. They don't care about Oklahoma (and why should they?). Same for most teams, especially good ones.
The worst part about all this is the people that ignore all the stupid shit OKC did to get to this point. OKC should have been Golden State before Golden State was. The only team that's drafted as well as Golden State has since these players entered the league is OKC. The difference is GS held on to their guys. Yeah, Curry was injured and he took a lower contract, but that doesn't mean OKC couldn't have done a better job of holding on to their guys (and surrounding them with cheaper players).
Durant. Westbrook. Harden. Jackson. Ibaka. Adams. Even Roberson. Four of those players are gone now. There's a solid chance all four could win more games than OKC next year.

I think he still needs to sell one of his homes here.
Might cover a months rent for him there.

NBA has a super team problem.
But the real story today is that OKC is harboring a terrorist.
