I'd bet the farm on redemption.

Star Wars loves a redemption story, and the dude is already struggling to stay darkside. They can still kill him afterwards though.

I'd put my money on ren's redemption at the end of 8 or start of 9 (far from the final act of the final movie) to avoid the Vader comparison. It'll play out like Zuko in Airbender.

saw it again in 2D. The aerial battles are much easier to watch in 2D and I enjoyed them a lot more. The Hitler stuff is unbelievably stupid, much worse on second viewing and it was pretty bad the first time. There's a lot going on in that vision Rey has when she touches the lightsaber. I certainly heard some Hayden and some Ackbar. Carrie Fischer is kind of a scene killer in this movie. Everyone I go with seems to love the Maz scene, I don't know what part of the appeal I'm missing. On second viewing Han Solo felt a lot more like Han Solo to me than he did the first time. Those first 40 minutes are some of the best of Star Wars. Rey just has amazing character introduction.

Just saw it finally. Really enjoyed it. Baton trooper deserves award for best supporting cast.

Finn was my favorite character and I really hope he ends up being force sensitive. Going into the movie I didn't know if they'd make Finn the jedi person and have Rey be his Han Solo or vice versa, but I guess they ended up just having Rey be both Luke and Han Solo, which kind of annoyed me.

Needs more spaceship battles and baton fights in future movies

Rumors are that Finn was supposed to have a baton battle with Phasma but that got cut, however the baton was too cool to ditch entirely and they gave it to some random trooper. Makes sense, Phasma's role was already too big.

Maybe I'm wrong but it seems like she'll show up in later movies? Or did they say that she dies in the planet collapsing?

I'm gonna buy a baton trooper action figure

Edit: Also while I'm thinking about it, I'm disappointed they killed Han off in the first movie. I feel like that should've been 2nd movie material.

I wonder if they felt like they couldn't have a lot of Poe and Han in the same film. So this was Hans last hurrah and maybe we'll get more Bromancery in the next one. Fingers crossed!

I believe it's a book and an appearance in Rebels. New Thrawn will be canon but the Thrawn trilogy remains un-canoned.
