Started a new playthrough with a female Qunari. It was pretty cool but I couldn't stand the hair. The options are so bad.
Playing a male human now so I can get it on with Cassandra. Hopefully modders will add more hair while I'm doing this playthrough.

Beat the game, finally. 110 hours.

Solas confirmed for awful. Knew it all along. One of Bioware's truly appalling creations.Bitched and moaned about how much better he was than everyone else and turns out he's some stupid wolf god that lost his ball or whatever. AND IF HE WAS GOING TO LEAVE GIVE ME BACK MY STAFF FIRST THAT WAS EXPENSIVE.

Viv improved over the course of the game. Luv you Viv.

Cassandra=standout companion. Always agreed with Chicken shows good character.

Cullen=Dope

Lielana=Good character, unconvincing voice actor

The Hero of Freledian is not great in chickencanon. The game would make a lot more sense if Warden hooks up with Morrigan. In mine, we contact her and she's like, sorry I can't join the Inquisition and save the world, I'm searching for a cure to being a Grey Warden.

So, I take it even if you killed Morrigan, she can't actually die, like Leliana?

Sera most underrated companion. Taking her to the ball was funny. She and Viv have the best banter.

Varric is Varric, great.

Iron Bull was cool. Blackwall was I don't know. Both of them felt very underdeveloped. How about less collection/farm quests, more companion stories? Really, I'd say only a few companions have actual arcs: Cassandra, Dorian, Solas, Cole, and Sera, in her way. The rest have a quest, make a decision, but then it doesn't go anywhere. Iron Bull especially was disappointing--so much potential.
I know each character is probably much better when romanced, so.

The zones were beautiful, but ended up being bland sandboxes. Most of the time you run into people simply named Slave or Mayor--where in past games these would have been actual characters, and the zones would have had actual narratives. I still remember a lot of people I met on Tarris. I would have preferred half the content with more depth.

A lot of the story is told in codex entries--I'm not sure this is an artistic decision but a resource/time one.

I hope there's a really big expansion pack. Really good game-- exciting to think about the next Mass Effect if it builds on this.
DA:I is the third best Bioware game, behind Mass Effect 2 and Kotor.

Can someone explain potions to me, because I thought it was each individual character had their own pool of potions. But last night I went to actually USE a health potion for the first time (and yes I made sure I was fully stocked before I left the Keep) and I suddenly realised that my Mage had no health potions left and promptly died. So, is it a party potion pool?

I'm so confused. There are so many things about this game that confuse me. Don't even get me started on the area map. And the loot scanning wtf.

I shall keep plugging away but initial impressions are not great. At least the game is not crashing every time I hit a cutscene (or during character creation) which is what my bro has been suffering. The game refuses to run in fullscreen mode however.

Oh yeah and this tactics mode is shitting me. Gawd.

Health potions are group, additional potions are assigned to an individual basis. You can set how low the potion pool can be taken in tactics menu.

I don't know if I'm going cynical mode because I haven't played in a while but I can't point at a single area and say I enjoyed it. It's all just shitty grinding. I really enjoyed the Main story line and companion stuff. But the side questing and combat is just awful.
