Don't worry, BioWare doesn't either.

Re: Dargon Age 3
Are the advisor romances as well fleshed out as the companion ones or are they more along the lines of Traynor/Kelly/etc?
None of the companions really interest me(Really, BioWare, why do you think I play your games?) but that Josephine.
Also I fully realize like how much of a doofus I look, asking all these questions. I'll be getting the game around the end of this week and all will be fine.

Character creator boss is such a motherfucker. I've made 4 mages, each taking at least 30min. Working on my 5th now.
None of this surprised anyone but you, Grom. SelkHype makes victims of us all.Grommok wrote: Also I fully realize like how much of a doofus I look, asking all these questions. I'll be getting the game around the end of this week and all will be fine.

Doesn't help that the lighting in the first area is so off. I've run two to the Hinterlands quickly to see what they actually look like. The weird lighting actually threw me off with my dorf too, and made me settle for brown hair instead of black.isgrelindisguise wrote:Character creator boss is such a motherfucker. I want to play mage too but bash options seem limited. I just used Cass and don't want to repeat her. Not that interested in Bull. People keep mentioning there's extra stuff with Blackwall so maybe I'll try him out.
I guess the real issue is that I love Dorian and Viv and don't want to abandon one of them. And I want to use Solas more.
TL;DR Mages are too awesome
In my limited experience with Josephine it certainly seems fleshed out, though I didn't unlock the romance fully. She has an interesting, multi-part back story and is a bigger part of the main story than many of the companions (all the advisers are).Grommok wrote:Are the advisor romances as well fleshed out as the companion ones or are they more along the lines of Traynor/Kelly/etc?

I'd say one thing to keep in mind is you can flirt with pretty much everyone, even if a romance isn't possible for your particular gender / race combo. I thought this was a nice touch and a bit more realistic. The companions even react differently.
Also there's varying levels of nudity involved in the sex scenes across all the romances, including the advisers. I haven't seen all of them but this is what people say.

I know that Knight Enchanter is hard to pass up, but I want to say that Rift Mage is also really fun. You can group a ton of enemies up with Pull of the Abyss and shit on them with a million aoe abilities

Re: Dargon Age 3
I really like all the mage subclasses, and if I wasn't doing this on Nightmare I'd probably go Rift mage.

I finally beat some multiplayer levels. Two in a row, then the group fell apart.
Also starting to not feel completely useless now that I can do more than chain lightning and barrier.

Apparently Deep Mushrooms are cordyceps. If you look closely at them you can see they're growing out of a spider corpse.

Re: Dargon Age 3
Okay, so it really doesn't run all that well on my system. Should have expected that from BioWare, I suppose.
Trying to wrap my mind around why they changed the combat system to this. It's just so clunky. Maybe I'll get used to it later.
The hairstyles suck.

What are your specs? General sentiment is the game scales low pretty well as long as your processor is up to the task.

I just got to Redcliff and found Connor earlier today... does anyone know what would happen if you left the demon inside him? Would he be all possessed and shit? That'd be cool.badfo wrote:I ran into an interesting story bug

I'm pretty sure that choice is in the keep so I imagine theres a still-possessed option available.

Re: Dargon Age 3
Specs:
HD 6970
i7 2600
8 gigs of ram.
I get around 30-50 FPS, it's all over the place, definitely playable though.
I met Sera, she's cute. Now I can't choose between her and Josephine. I'll just flirt with everyone and see what happens.
I have to say that the Inquisitor hasn't quite grown on me yet. I just don't feel like she has an actual personality like Hawke. And let's be honest, whoever voices her is no Jo Wyatt.

Re: Dargon Age 3
Beat it, 70 hours~. Did nearly everything. Killed all 10 High Dragons but didn't get the chievo for it. My biggest complaint is the tactics/behaviors being complete shit. Even the "Hold Position" didn't work half of the time. Party members would regularly stand in AOE and consume all of my potions.
Another complaint I have is that with side quests BioWare seems to have gone the route of quantity > quality. There's a shit ton of side quests, but none of them are particularly interesting. I would have definitely preferred fewer side quests if it meant that they were more memorable. I am reminded of the crazy wizard/talking tree in the Brecilien forest or finding Ruck in the Deep Roads, stuff like that is good quests. Getting 10 ram meats is dumb.
It felt like there were also a few pointless zones. The Mire in particular could have been excluded altogether and nothing would have changed. Recommended level info on zone descriptions would have also been nice. I went to a few zones 2-3 levels late and ended up fighting some dragons 4-5 levels over-leveled which is disappointing. All the Orlesian zones outside of Val Royeaux were dogshit. Desert zones were top-tier. Everything else was somewhere in the middle.
I didn't particularly care for the Inquisitor as a protagonist, Hawke's voice actor puts them both to shame.
I also didn't care for the crafting. It seems that the cloth/leather/plate sets are just copies of one another. Gathering resources is also annoying. It's also lame when you find a unique item but there's no reason to use it because you can just make something better. Also there's no way to obtain the Venatori mage/rogue armor, which is really disappointing.
Also I hate being worshipped. I want BioWare to make a game in the Dragon Age/Mass Effect universe where I'm not saving the fucking world.

Re: Dargon Age 3
So I unlocked Assassin in MP as a random loot and it's okay. I finally earned enough to unlock necromancer and I'm excited about using it.

Re: Dargon Age 3
I've got enough to unlock pretty much any warrior class. I've heard Katari is good but I can't stand the aesthetics. I'd love to get one as a random drop so I don't have to choose.
@Grom it's not a big impact, AFAIK.
