It was a slightly odd sensation to learn, through Suzuki's comments, that Shenmue 3 is more than just a dream. Suzuki said more than I'm able to fully disclose, unfortunately, but it became clear it's as close to being announced as it has ever been over the past decade.
Also, in the least interesting part of this post, confirmation that BW just doesn't care about me. Only going to be NPCs.
Some handsome looking kath. Near-human only stuff from bioware still depresses me.
I am very excited about not-Alpha-Centauri. I'm a pretty big fan of 4X games and most of the indy turn based ones I have in my library are crap.
Hoping for something better!
I'm cautiously optimistic. Apparently actually giving us mages this time (supposedly 3 warriors / 3 rogues / 3 mages). Cassandra and Cullen (from DAO and 2 confirmed as romances).
ArcheAge is finally getting its English translation 30 years later. It looks so bad and so Korean and so dated. But so sandboxy. I'm upset I haven't got my beta invite. I'll hate every minute of it. http://www.archeagegame.com/en/
Maybe Blake Desert is more what I'm looking for and maybe I won't be burnt out on MMOs when it's released in 2027.
I imagine there will be. Cullen probably isn't even a companion, just an NPC romance (3 warrior companions already accounted for: Cassandra, the Qunari, and this bearded Warden dude). And there's a likely male human mage and an open rogue spot (Varric confirmed and an elven female rogue is basically confirmed). I suppose there could be a Loghain / Alistair or Bethany / Carver situation (probably better chance there is than there isn't).
Why are people obsessed with Cullen? I just didn't give a shit in DA:O.
I assume after the ME3 issue with straight females potentially having no romance options that Cullen won't be the only one.
Cullen: Flirted with female mage origin characters pretty heavily. Wanted to kill all the mages in Ferelden. Still wanted to kill mages in kirkwall. But not, you know, KILL KILL all the mages. That'd be crossing boundaries.
I imagine in DA3 Cullen will want to kill the mages. Except for you. I bet he'll flirt with you.
A little mage killing is good for everyone.
Remember the thread where Jensen tried to justify killing every mage? I probably bring this up to salo every other month.

Dunno. I always thought of him as basically being Alistair-Lite. Almost the same character in DAO (bashful, priestly-type) - only to evolve into a hardcore mage hater in DA2. What's not to like? ::)
I hate to complain about something that isn't really that integral to the gameplay, but female romance options in Bioware games are just tragic. The only uncomplicated happy ending I can recall is Sky in Jade Empire. Alistair dumps you in DAO. Zevran is just abominable. Fenris is a whiny dick that abandons you because you make him FEEL TOO MUCH! Anders turns into a murderous zealot. Sebastion is another unreliable, whiny cunt (I think they base all romance characters on Carth from KoToR - Looking at you Kaidan Alenko). Which brings us to Mass Effect. No denying I looooove Garrus and turians in general, but he's mah bro! It was weird to start a relationship with him in ME2. And the only alternatives were the dying fish stick and that cocky black dickhead?
And then ME3 - dying fish man again, James Vega (Jacob Taylor 2.0), Javik (seriously, Javik!? The guy that would enslave all sentient life if his civilisation hadn't been utterly destroyed) Kaidan and Garrus.
Maybe I'm too picky, but I feel like Bioware take the "bad-boy" archetype too far into psycho territory. Sometimes I lament that I can't just play a game and be satisfied by gratuitous T&A.
They've definitely got the short end of the stick most of the time. DA:O is probably the biggest offender (outside the obvious ME3 where everybody can be dead) with the Morrigan and Anora endings.
Kaidan though. He's my bro. Just throw him a rope. He's a confused kid.
Anyway there's a trailer out today and a screenshot of the main characters (three of them are NPCs).
I wonder how many are romances. At this point we can probably be assured that all the females are because that's what BW does.

I like most of the character design; femelf archer and blonde kid with hair in his eyes being the exceptions. I'm interested in the gents farthest from the middle. One on the left looks pretty aristocratic. Hope he's not a mage/Anders.
