i dunno, i really enjoyed it. yeah, i had to take a couple smoke breaks cause it was retarded long...but regardless of the fact it destroyed canon and attempted to be a no holds barred action packed thrill ride; hearing the entire theatre groan when megan fox first showed up on the bike was priceless...

also, the 9 trailer by tim burton finally seen on the big screen has pretty much convinced me i have to smoke pot again

When I went to star trek baked out of my mind the 9 trailer played. It looked fucking awesome

to be completely honest, i WAS stoned during the trailers. the pain killers werent doin enough to dull the drama im having with my dad and the fbi and grand jury and abc and associated press and inside edition so i got baked with my friends before checking it out. i was in tears during that trailer. brought me back to nightmare before xmas days, so yeah...im definately gettin stoned for it

For once Sobchak is returning back to the original topic.

This movie's biggest problems, to me, were pacing and dialogue. Pacing because apparently you can throw random humor in for 10 seconds, which is all good and fun, but counter it with slow-motion dramatic scenes five seconds later, and then go into an action scene. None of the straight fighting scenes between the Transformers ever seem to continue very long either, especially the climactic final scene between Optimus and The Fallen, which went quicker than a fart in the wind.

And the dialogue. That's the screenwriters fault through and through. The funny dialogue was... pretty funny, it was cute. I cracked a laugh here and there; but anyone wearing a military uniform had the worst fucking dialogue I've heard in a movie since Bill Paxton's line in Twister ("He's in it for the money, not the science.").

Finally, the acting. Shia might not have incredible range (I think the farthest direction he's taken his acting was playing a retarded kid in a Disney movie, which was like watching someone do a Shia LaBouf impression), but he did everything right that he could possibly do. Chalk it up to shitty scriptwriting, but the acting wasn't bad to me. Honest to god, I spent half the movie saying "Which fucking robot is that?" and the other half saying "Fuck, I want to fuck Meagan Fox." Damn she looked good.

Re: serious moments and comic relief moments, they flowed better in the first one and seemed thrown in for the sequel.

In some scenes it was hard to tell which robots were which - more Optimus swordfighting was good though.

I think it just needed a bit more polish - seemed to be a bit less refined than the original.

The swordfighting scene was indeed badass. He had a line where he said something like "I'll take all of you," and I remember thinking Anyone other than Peter Culling saying that and it wouldn't be badass.
